My thinking on BD/SM is that when properly applyed it is not un-like traditional Male / Female relationships. Before the "Revolution" of equality Men and Women had fixed roles. This was extremely efficient. The Man was the head of the household and as such had incredible responsibility, like the Dom (dominent, Master) but of course he wanted to do things to please his wife.

The Man may be the head, but the Woman is the neck and she can turn the head to see anything she wants. So like the Sub (submissive, slave) women held all the cards. They would dote on there Mans needs but the man would demand the utmost of respect and courtesy towards the woman by all. Seperate yet equal. Perfect, Balance.

I feel most that practice the BD/SM lifestyle are missing this point. It is simply play time and an extremely hedonistic one without goals for learning and growth. I see massive potential in this arena. I feel modern relationships are without specific boundries and as a result , conflict is inevitable.

I feel the American people in general are longing for more traditional roles on both parts, Male and Female. Women all seem to complain that Men are not assertive enough.
